GISELLE BAULCH - SOPRANO
Giselle Baulch completed a Bachelor of Arts (Ital. Major)
and a Bachelor of Music (Hons.) at the University of Melbourne,
Australia in 1999 and was a member of Opera Queensland's
Young Artist Programme in 2004.
Currently Giselle is studying with the Maggio Musicale
Formazione due to a scholarship from Rotary International,
the government of the European Union and Maggio Fiorentino
Formazione. Giselle has performed the roles of Regina
Cattiva in the European debut production of Luigi Zaninelli's
Bianca Neve and Papagena in Mozart's Die Zauberflote
as part of the Maggio Musicale Formazione's educational
programme. She has also performed as a soloist in the
2006 International Music Festival of St Petersburg Palaces
and the 2006 International Montecatini Music Festival.
She is currently performing the role of Nella in Puccini's
Gianni Schicchi for the Maggio Musicale Formazione, in
conjuction with Estate Fiesolana.
In Australia, Giselle has performed the roles of Lola
(Cavalleria Rusticana), Flora (La Traviata) and First
Lady (Die Zauberflote) and has covered the roles of Clarissa
(Love for Three Oranges), Mercedes (Carmen) and Pamina
(Die Zauberflote). She has worked with the national opera
company, Opera Australia, and many smaller state and city
companies.
Since 1998 Giselle has been a regular concert soloist
and recitalist both in and around Australia and abroad.
She has performed in Jakarta with the Nusantara Orchestra,
toured with the Australian Army Band and performed for
the Governor of Victoria at Government House, Melbourne. |
